Edit 01/31/2026: I reached out to the corporate office, and they channeled the information back to the store manager, Tiffany Frost. Mrs. Frost contacted me and we had an email conversation. She did an excellent job of de-escalating the situation. I appreciate her effort and willingness to listen, and understand. See, I’m not a “the customer is always right”, person, because there is actually a lot more to that quote. But, when the customer IS right, a business should honor that. Mrs. Frost saw that and corrected it. That is why I might be back again, and not permanently mark CAL Ranch off the list. It is not the customer’s job to decipher what is on clearance and what is not. Rather, it’s the businesses responsibility to honor the price as marked (within reason of course. I know people try to switch prices all the time, I don’t expect to get buy a chainsaw for 5 bucks, that’s ignorant.). However, when it’s within reasonable standards and it does NOT have “clearance” marked anywhere on it, it is reasonable to assume it is a standard price, and thus you should get the discount. Mrs. Frost agreed and offered it after the fact. So I am bumping this up to 4 stars, for that reason. Just be careful, and if you have a disagreement about something, get the store manager on the line. Today, during the One Day only sale! I wasted my day off to come up here and attempt to purchase a gun safe. The price listed is 1399.99, as you can see in the photos, it doesn’t say clearance anywhere, so I go to the cash register (because the younger gun guy who thinks he knows everything and is annoying as hell anyway, is on break and no one is around to help me) and try to check out. The cashier is awesome and friendly as usual, hence the one star and I can’t rate it lower. So I ask about the ten percent, because it comes up as the 1399.99, and she gets a manager. His comment is “oh yeah, well that’s on clearance anyway, so it’s as low as it will go”. Mind you, again, no where does it say clearance so that to me is an obvious bait and switch. They are purposely hiding the fact that this safe, which has been here for a long time, is on clearance and hoping each time a sucker will come up and say “screw it, I’ll take it anyway”. That is pretty shady business. I really used to love coming here, friendly people, the gun counter folks wouldn’t bug you when you say you’re just looking, or try to convince you to buy what’s on sale even though it’s not close to what you’re looking at, or, them pulling the ole bait and switch on sales and things.

Angel and Marcus went out of their way to help me find a product I needed and made sure I got it in a timely manner! Sandra and Neal are also extremely helpful, knowledgeable and go out of their way to help me get products the store doesn’t necessarily carry! What ever you need the Cal Ranch staff have your back!
