Runnings PEKIN - Hours, Reviews & Deals

The store was full of clueless employees. 1 out of 4 employees were actually able to talk and answer simple questions. I was in one day last week and had a conversation with a gentlemen at the firearms desk and he was quite helpful. We discussed a couple sales coming up and a possible sale on one item. When asked if there was an ad he was not sure when it would be available and suggested I check the website or back in the store. Very good customer service from this one employee. A couple nights ago we stopped by and asked another employee at the firearms desk if there was a black friday ad out. He started looking around me and said I dont see any back here, I figured out he was talking about a posted advert about the gift cards for $50 purchase. Not at all what I asked and he was a little rude about it. He definitely did not have a clue about anything in the store. Got to the checkout later and asked if there were rewards with Runnings, he asked me for my phone number. I then hear someone behind me asking if I had a commercial account, I answered no and she said we dont have rewards. Okay, got it! Asked the cashier about the black friday flyer 4 times before he asked what i was talking about and could only mentioned the same gift card for $50 purchase. Then the girl chimed in again and was talking about the same thing. She even walked over to another register and handed me the same flyer I told them I was not ask about. They were there for customer service and have no clue what is going on in the store, why do they not know that there is a black friday ad online? Lack of communication to the employees, ignorance or both?

I just happened to be running some errands in Pekin and I drove past Runnings and honestly, I didn't know that they were rebranded. I decided to stop in and see what the store was about. I noticed the sign out front said that the grand opening was in March so I was wondering if it was even open, but I saw people going in and out. I never went into the previous store which was R.P Home & Harvest but it kind of reminded me of a farm and fleet store the way it was laid out and the items that they had. I'm not sure if they're still remodeling the store or not but I did notice that the previous carpet had been torn up and no new carpet was put down yet so the floors were kind of weird, it needs some updating, especially in the bathroom. That being said, there were lots of different types of items available in the store for purchase. There was a huge selection of items for pets, lots of clothes, sporting goods, hunting and fishing equipment, clothing, footwear, lawn and garden supplies, housewares, tools, farm supplies, toys, and outdoor equipment! I noticed some good sales in the store too. There weren't many people there at all but it does have alot to offer!
