I can’t say enough good things about my experience at Grand Lake Hunt. From start to finish, Corey made sure everything went smoothly and gave us a hunt we’ll never forget. He knows the land, the animals, and how to make sure you’re set up for success. The photo I’m posting with this review says it all — an unforgettable hunt and a trophy of a lifetime. What really stood out is the setting itself. The Maine woods are absolutely beautiful — peaceful, wild, and the perfect backdrop for a hunt like this. It’s the kind of place where every time you step outside, you’re reminded why you love the outdoors. On top of that, the hospitality here is second to none. This is a true family-run operation, and you feel it in every detail. Corey’s wife cooks all the meals, and they were flat-out amazing — the kind of food that makes you look forward to coming back from the woods at the end of the day. If you’re looking for a world-class hunt surrounded by breathtaking scenery, but also want the comfort and warmth of being treated like family, this is the place. Can’t recommend them highly enough. What a fantastic experience. You couldn’t be treated better. Three delicious squares a day home cooked. An amazing family as host with some of the hardest working most polite kids you could hope for. A beautiful comfortable lodge thats amazing and warm inside. I lucked out and was blessed to the first big snowstorm of the year which couldn’t have made it any prettier. Most importantly for the intended purpose, there were beautiful animals everywhere (Bison/elk/bear/moose/red stag/fallow deer). Comfortable blinds with a heater to keep you comfy while you scout the fields and woods mean you get to enjoy plenty of game in relative comfort with rarely any long periods without seeing some beautiful creature. They even provided the snow I asked for making it one of the best hunting trips I could’ve hoped for. They’ve recently scored the biggest moose ever taken in Maine, and a huge success rate with the other game. I couldn’t recommend Grand Luck Hunt, Corey or his wonderful family any higher. Can’t wait to come back.—already booked for next year. No longer a rookie, here are some suggestions 1) don’t worry about flexibility, Corey is here to make sure you leave happy 2) bring slippers or footwear for the lodge—thankfully it’s shoes off in the lodge and the floor can get a little cold 3) bring your own toiletries-duh. It’s a hunting lodge not a spa. They provide almost everything 4) bring your own beverages. There’s a full size fridge and main meals are bountiful and snacks are available but if you want more than tap water bring your own 5) bring binocs (and a good camera). Corey may have a spare binocular but like a dummy I forgot the good camera and the views are spectacular. How are you gonna glass the fields without a pair? 6) sight your rifle before coming and make sure it works. Thankfully Corey is a stickler for ethical shots and accuracy. You owe it to the animal.
