This review is in regards to a visit to B & C photo located on water street in elmira ny. I had planned on getting my son in law an enlarged photo of him and his son at a Philadelphia Eagles game together having a great time. Unfortunately it was one of the last event they did together because his son was struck by a car and killed . They had repeatedly talked about the great time at the game many times. This was to be a Christmas gift but I told them it would be alright if it was done after Christmas because it was Christmas eve. The staff kicked into motion and got instantly to work. They created a "picture perfect " enlargement surrounded by an awesome frame. All at the last minute on Christmas Eve. Needless to say my son in law loved it. They we took the extra effort while taking care of other customers at the same time. I thank them wholeheartedly for their own "Christmas Miracle " in my opinion.

I had an incredible experience at B&C with John! I came in hoping to buy my first film camera, and John spent so much time answering every question I had. We talked about everything from medium format and 35mm to box cameras, and he clearly explained the differences between rangefinders and SLRs. I got to handle Hasselblads, Nikons, Minoltas, Leicas, Olympus, Canon, and Kodaks. I arrived with a list of about 20 cameras I was interested in, and he had most of them in the store. His selection of vintage film camera bodies and lenses is honestly one of the best in the state outside of New York City. John helped me narrow my search to a Nikon that would be a great fit for me. I initially chose a Nikon FE, then changed my mind and exchanged it for an F2 — and he was incredibly patient through the whole process. He helped me customize the camera body, prism, and focusing screen, and he let me try at least ten different attachments for the F2, including the waist-level viewfinder that ultimately made it the perfect choice for me. He had 8 F2s in the store to choose from. He also taught me many of the functions of the camera and showed me how to load a roll of film. I am in love with my camera and deeply appreciate the time John spent teaching me and helping me find the perfect one. I highly recommend B&C to anyone looking to purchase a film camera!
