I would like to share my experience with pawn south in elizabethtown nc. I seen what was labeled as a 2.4 gram 10kt white gold vintage navette style ring that my wife really wanted ...at the time spot price of 10kt was roughly $67 a gram. I talked them down to 165 so i paid a not terrible price to me at $5 over the value of the gold. A few days go by i stopped at another place of business and for shits and giggles ask them what they would pay . The gentleman scratches it and acid tests it and woosh its gone... they look inside the ring and said its stamped 925. Needless to say I drove straight to pawn south in etown . The new guy the jerk with black hair and glasses acid tests it and it holds at 10kt acid but after some delay the acid eats it . They clean it look at it further and say they cant tell what the ring says on the inside the guy tried to stiff me and say its as is I cant get my money back that its my responsibility to inspect it when they had it labeled as 10 kt white gold..after words were exchanged one of the nice ladies that works there told him to give me my money back. They finally did but then still couldn't figure out if it was silver or gold I told them I wanted to buy it at silver price because my wife liked the ring. For two hours this goes on it seems like and I was told repeatedly that I couldn't get it any cheaper they would just melt it. I walk out the door and get in the truck my wife was in tears at this point it didnt matter if it was a 40 cent ring it meant alot to her because I got it for her and it resembles her grandmother's ring that was lost . So I walk back in the store and after being told they would just be melting it there's a print out on the counter a new label on the counter to put it back on display for $99 2.4 grams of sterling silver ... i dont think they expected me to walk back in but the ring was bought back at $100 because they had $75 in it is what i was told.. the only reason I bought it back was to make my wife happy but never again will I buy jewelry or anything else from pawn south. There are good people working there but the new guy in charge is very unpleasant. Please dont buy jewelry from this establishment . I also had purchased 2 emerald diamond crested 10kt yellow gold rings and never took them out of the box they were valentines gifts for next month but when I went there today and opened the box a stone was missing they refused refunds said rings were as is. Im really not happy about this and wish I had a number to corporate to complain on the guy who I dealt with today. He needs to take notes on how the two women conducted business today they were sweet as could be .. AVOID THEIR JEWELRY LIKE THE PLAUGE. I want my money back on the damaged ring I have my proof of purchase
