It depends on the type of firearm and your state of residence. For example, handguns can only be purchased in your state of residence. However, long guns may be purchased in a different state as long as there is no violation of any federal, state or local laws.

You have to have Texas ID of some kind. They will not let you take the gun outside of the store without a Texas ID.
