I’ve purchased a firearm from here before had no issue in the past. Today, I went into Down Range to look for a new left handed shotgun for my GF. We asked the man behind the counter about a left handed SX4 12 gauge. The employee referred us to a female employee. He inferred that she was new, and that he would help with any final paperwork. I asked her about the gun, and the guy chimed in to say it wasn’t available but said they could order it. We asked about a left handed A5 too, & she was confused. So I then asked if they had any right handed SX4 or A5 to compare by holding and she asked who the makers of the guns were. I let her know that it’s a Browning A5 and a Winchester SX4. She then proceeded to look at the rifles and I had to point out where the shotguns were located. She then found a Weatherby and so at that point, I truly realized that it was pointless to be at the gun counter because there was a lack of knowledge about firearms. To her credit, she said she was unfamiliar with long arms but could read tags. Meanwhile, the male employee that had referred her to us , had heard the whole conversation, and didn’t try to help her. Please train your employees to be able to distinguish the difference between a rifle and a shotgun. I’ve been in several gun shops, and have never once experienced such ignorance about firearms.
