I want to preface this review by saying that I’m not even a firearms/defense enthusiast—I haven’t used a firearm in over a decade, but I still maintain a healthy respect and appreciation for the engineering and physics involved, as well as the skill of accomplished marksmen. At any rate, I had the pleasure of meeting Conrad at the shop while on a pest control mission: I have an iguana problem and I, after some serious soul-searching, have decided(with a heavy heart)that they have to be exterminated. The air rifle I plan on using to dispatch the little dragons with had been sitting in the woodshed for about 8 years—unsurprisingly, it had developed spots of surface rust. I’d called beforehand and told Conrad my plight—he was more than happy to fill me in on some economic DIY options to clean things up. I was honestly taken aback at first because I’m not used to businesses trying to save me money, especially when I haven’t already given them my patronage! I still felt like I needed my hand to be held a bit and Conrad was beyond accommodating—we arranged a time to meet so that he could get eyes on the rust in question. Upon our meeting, Conrad addressed the issue with poise and confidence, which left me feeling reassured that I would be able to tackle the rust on my own—I bought a bottle of Breakthrough CLP and Conrad graciously provided me with a pad of fine steel wool, too! Fast forward to now and the combination of CLP and steel wool works like a charm—the process of cleaning up the rust has been rather zen-like and relaxing too, almost therapeutic. On top of everything, Conrad even gave me a lead on where I could send the iguanas for minimal-waste processing—he listened to me and understood where my heart is at in relation to making sure that these beautiful animals would be honored and that they wouldn’t go to waste. After my interactions with Conrad today, I’m not surprised in the least to see that Family of Patriots has nothing but 5-star reviews—the cream floats to the top. A true hidden gem, and probably one of the best kept secrets in Naples…10 out of 5 Stars!

Conrad is and Encyclopedia when it comes to firearms. My wife and I had a blast at his shop this afternoon and plan to come back for his concealed carry course.
